Welcome to Champion Interpreting Services

Champion Interpreting Services is a family-owned and operated agency serving the Treasure Valley and beyond. At the heart of our work is a simple belief: meaningful communication should feel accessible, respectful, and human.

Owner and founder, Barbra Villahermosa, brings the leadership and heart behind Champion Interpreting Services. As a Registered Nurse with many years of experience working with children and families, she has built her career around advocacy, compassion, communication, and helping people navigate important moments with confidence.

Her connection to American Sign Language began in high school, where she studied ASL for several years. That early experience helped shape her appreciation for accessibility and the importance of clear, respectful communication.

Today, Barbra helps guide the vision of Champion Interpreting Services and the values that shape how the agency serves its clients and community.

Her husband, Gabriel, supports that mission through his work as a professional American Sign Language interpreter. His interest in language began early, growing up in a Puerto Rican family and developing a lifelong appreciation for language, culture, and human connection. After becoming involved with the Deaf community, he went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in American Sign Language and Interpreting and has since worked in a variety of interpreting settings.

Together, Barbra and Gabriel have built Champion Interpreting Services around the values that matter most to their family: integrity, excellence, compassion, accessibility, and genuine connection.

They are also parents to three children and a mini golden-doodle named Maggie. Outside of work, their family life centers around faith, community, and spending time with the people they love.
